About me

As a Cultural Care local childcare consultant (LCC), I invite our host families and au pairs as well as those considering Cultural Care Au Pair to explore my site and learn about what is going on in our community. I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering the program to help them determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right childcare solution for them.

My name is Tais Farinha and I am your Local Care Consultant based in the Greenville/Upstate area of South Carolina. My background includes a variety of experiences that have uniquely prepared me for working with Cultural Care’s au pairs and host families. I am originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I worked teaching and coordinating an English as a Second Language School while earning my Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese and English Languages and Literatures. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Greenville, SC as an au pair.

Currently, I have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood and Special Educations. I am a full time Special Education teacher at Spartanburg School District 5. Prior to that, I was a Special Education teacher at Laurens County School District 56, where I was actively involved in the PTO board, School Improvement Council, and also served as the School Ambassador for induction teachers.

I speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. I enjoy outdoor activities, reading, shopping and technology. I am also very active in the community and love volunteering: I have served as a Pre-school helper at The First Baptist Church of Greenville; I have also taught ESOL at the Greenville Literacy Association; I was a Technology Instructor at the Rolling Greens Village/Retirement Home for seniors and a Guardian Ad Litem for the State of South Carolina. Currently, I serve as one of the board directors for Red Shoe Society, a nonprofit organization that supports the Ronald McDonald’s House.
